I hired Sticks and Stones Construction for building a small house in Rochester, VT. Greg and team were willing to work with my goal of incorporating a timber frame main room with 'stick built' bedroom, bath, and hallway. The planning process was very collaborative with each side sharing ideas on all aspects of the build; from flooring, heating, lighting, etc. Greg was very open in when a decision would impact time and/or budget on the project. Although building a house can be stressful at times given the large amount of decisions, I really enjoyed working with Greg in all stages of the building process. The end result exceeded expectations. We LOVE our house. The construction, and all finishing details are perfect. It is very energy efficient and has a great 'homey' feel. My family and I love it, and wouldn't change anything. If/when we decide to have any additional work done in VT, we would surely go with Sticks and Stones. Greg Wallace / Sticks and Stones had completed a huge remodel and finish work on my daughter's home. A year later, I bought a small 5-room fixer upper across the road from her. In the 11th hour, with only two months to plan and strategize, Greg agreed to take on my project, and my limited budget, which included gutting two rooms completely and one room partially. And there were hidden problems, like water damage behind the walls. Greg and his team are wonderful, kind human beings. They brought a sense of calm to every aspect of my project, which helped me roll with the punches with some ease. Greg completely understood and respected the simplicity of my aesthetic while at the same time the precise work I required from windows to walls to floors to doors to trim work and everything in between.
